There’s a ceiling most agents hit that has nothing to do with skill or effort. You’re producing, and you’re busy, but the number stays the same year after year, and when you look around for help, the culture you’re in tells you to figure it out on your own.
Jose Cereceres was in that exact spot before we connected. He was closing 50 transactions a year out of a flat-fee brokerage in Phoenix, running hard, leading a team, and still feeling like he was on an island. If he asked another agent what they were doing differently, the answer was silence. Nobody was sharing or collaborating, and it was every agent for themselves.
When we first talked, Jose did what any sharp business mind would do. He ran the numbers. The move from his flat-fee brokerage to PAK would cost him roughly $10,000 a year. At 50 deals, that’s tight. But the question he asked himself is the one I think every agent should sit with: Can I gain more from this change than it costs me? If PAK could help him close even one additional transaction, he’d break even. Everything after that was growth.
Two years later, Jose went from 50 transactions to pushing 80. That kind of growth far outpaced the cost of the move, but, as Jose tells it, the numbers tell only part of the story. The real identity shift happened in how he thinks about competition, how he leads his team, and how he shows up outside of business.
His wife, Denise, who is also a lender, said something on camera that stuck with me. She said PAK changed her husband. The meditation, the breath work, and the 4:30 a.m. gym sessions all became part of his identity. Jose told me that morning training is what sets the tone for his entire workday, and that kind of discipline is something the old brokerage never prioritized. Before, their marriage was under pressure from two entrepreneurs grinding nonstop in the same industry. Now, business is a spoke in the wheel, not the whole wheel. That shift, from production-only to holistic growth, is what this entire episode is about.
