I recently sat down with Alex Rodriguez for an episode of Identity Shift, and his story stuck with me because I think a lot of agents are living some version of it right now. Before joining PAK Home Realty, Alex was deep in the buyer grind. Seven days a week, three to four buyers a day, sometimes 15 homes in a single day, and he was only keeping about 50% of his commission.

Annually, he was landing somewhere in the $80,000 to $120,000 range, which sounds reasonable until you factor in what it was costing him. He was missing his kids’ games, their school events, the moments that do not come back.

The thing that kept him stuck was not a lack of skill. It was loyalty to the brokerage that brought him into the business and a fear of letting his broker down. That combination is more common than most agents want to admit, and it is exactly what was keeping Alex from making a move that could change everything.

Loyalty is real, but it should not cost you your goals. One of the most relatable parts of this conversation is Alex admitting he almost sacrificed his ambitions because of loyalty to the brokerage that brought him in. That is a common story in real estate, and it is worth examining honestly.

Track your numbers, or you do not have a business. Alex admitted he never ran his business like a business until he came to PAK. Once he started tracking conversion rates, appointments, and income, everything became clearer and more intentional.
